Actor Ian Holm has only appeared on Broadway once. In 1967 he appeared in Harold Pinter’s The Homecoming. He won the Tony for Featured Actor in a Play for that performance. Most of his stage performances have been in his native Great Britain.
In the 1981 film Chariots of Fire, he played Sam Mussabini who coached one of the runners. For his performance, he was the only member of the cast to receive an Oscar nomination.
He appeared in the first and third Lord of the Rings movies and is currently seen in the first Hobbit movie. He is slated to appear in the final two, depending on how the editing works out.
